Bringing Stories to Life: Student Posters Being Prepared for the Festival
For the past month or so, students across Tucson have been drawing and coloring posters inspired by books written by authors presenting at the Tucson Festival of Books. Their creativity is now coming to life, as Altrusa Tucson members have been working hard preparing these posters for display.
In preparation for the festival, Altrusans mounted the student artwork onto construction paper, ensuring the pieces were ready for installation. This coming Wednesday, they will be carefully placed on bulletin boards on the 3rd floor of the University of Arizona Education Building, where they will serve as a warm welcome to festival attendees, including authors, illustrators, and those attending presentations. These posters highlight the enthusiasm and talent of young readers who were encouraged to engage with books in a new way—reading stories, visualizing the characters, and bringing them to life through their drawings.

Throughout the festival season, students from Tully, White, Bonillas, Mission Manor, and other schools participated in this project, creating posters based on books they read in class. Now, their work will be part of the festival’s celebration of literacy, adding to the excitement and inspiration of the event.
