Giving Thanks and Giving Back at the Steve Daru Boys and Girls Club

Altrusa Volunteers serving early Thanksgiving at Boys & Girls Club

On November 20, Altrusa Tucson members brought their dedication to service to the Steve Daru Boys and Girls Club. During an early Thanksgiving celebration from 4:30 to 6:00 PM, our Altrusans served approximately 120 guests buffet-style, ensuring everyone had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal. Our members created a welcoming and personalized experience for Boys and Girls Club families.

This event was just one part of our ongoing partnership with the Boys and Girls Club, located across the street from Tully Elementary Magnet School. For the past three years, this club has been a central focus of Altrusa Tucson’s literacy and community development efforts. Initiatives like writing workshops, a summer book club, and the installation of a free library reflect our commitment to empowering young minds and supporting the local community.

These activities align with Altrusa Tucson’s mission of “Leading to a Better Community” by promoting Literacy, Leadership, Development, and Fellowship. Events like these not only provide immediate support but also foster lasting relationships and opportunities for growth.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Boys and Girls Club and for the dedication of our members who contribute their time, talents, and treasure to make a meaningful difference. Together, we’re creating a brighter future for Tucson—one project and one act of kindness at a time. Altrusa Volunteers serving early Thanksgiving at Boys & Girls Club
