Making a Global Impact: Altrusa Tucson’s Work with Days for Girls
Each month, Altrusa Tucson members join forces with the Days for Girls project, an inspiring Altrusa International initiative aimed at creating reusable feminine sanitary products for individuals in underserved communities worldwide. On one Monday every month, our members and local volunteers come together to sew, assemble, and package these much-needed items that provide dignity, health, and opportunity for those without access.
This hands-on project is a powerful reminder of the impact a group of dedicated individuals can have on global health and equality. By providing reusable sanitary kits, we help ensure that menstruation does not become a barrier to education, work, or daily life in the countries where these kits are distributed.
As part of this effort, Sheila and I have been documenting our participation through photos, capturing moments of collaboration and purpose. These images tell the story of community members working side by side, stitching together not just products, but also hope and empowerment.
We’re proud to support this ongoing effort and invite anyone interested to join us at the next workday. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those in need across the globe.
Stay tuned for more updates and photos of our Days for Girls workdays—it’s a project that truly embodies Altrusa’s mission of “Leading to a Better Community,” both locally and internationally
