Altrusa Tucson’s Global Impact: Supporting Libraries for the World
Altrusa International of Tucson is proud to support Libraries for the World, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating libraries and improving literacy in underserved communities across the globe.
Our recent contributions have brought joy to children in Guatemala and Uganda, advancing their literacy journeys and providing access to valuable educational resources.
In Guatemala, Libraries for the World has established community libraries within existing homework centers, such as in San Antonio Aguas Calientes, in partnership with Creating Opportunities for Guatemalans.
In Uganda, the organization celebrated the grand opening of a new library in Abwanget, providing a vital resource for the local community.
We extend our gratitude to local partners like the Friends of the Pima County Public Library and the Valle Verde Rotary Club of Green Valley for their collaboration in supporting these initiatives.
Their combined efforts have been instrumental in making a tangible difference in the lives of children, fostering a love for reading and learning.
As we reflect on the impact of these projects, we are reminded of the importance of literacy in empowering individuals and strengthening communities.
Altrusa Tucson remains committed to supporting such initiatives, both locally and internationally, to promote education and opportunity for all.
