Exciting Updates on the Young Authors Contest
The Young Authors Contest, sponsored by Altrusa International of Tucson, has once again inspired creativity among Southern Arizona students from Pre-K through 12th grade. The December issue of Bear Essential News featured an article by past winner Alyssa Lemire, who shared her experiences with writing and the contest, encouraging young writers to participate.
This year, we received over 120 entries, including poems and stories, showcasing the remarkable talent of our local youth. The judging process is underway, and we are excited to announce the 20 winners who will be honored at the Tucson Festival of Books on March 15, 2025. Each winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to the UA Campus Store and will be recognized for their outstanding work.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, teachers, and parents for their support and enthusiasm. Your dedication to fostering a love for writing is truly commendable.
As we look forward to the awards ceremony, we encourage everyone to attend the Tucson Festival of Books to celebrate these young authors and immerse themselves in the vibrant literary community. Stay tuned for more updates, and we hope to see you there!
